Wellness and Massage Therapy in Hackensack, NJ

Stay Well Before Something Goes Wrong

You've put in the work to get healthy. This is how you protect that investment — regular tissue work with a clinician who knows your history and keeps your body running right.

Ignoring Tightness and Soreness Is Exactly How Injuries Start.

The Tightness You Keep Ignoring Adds Up.

Small restrictions compound over time. What starts as stiffness after a workout can become a pattern that limits your range, alters your movement, and eventually becomes an injury.

Generic Massage Doesn't Know Your History.

A standard massage can feel good in the moment. But without clinical context — your movement history, your sport, your weak points — it's maintenance without direction.

Waiting for Pain to Come Back Isn't a Strategy.

Most people wait until something hurts to seek care. Wellness changes that model — regular sessions keep tissue healthy so flare-ups become the exception, not the routine.

Hear from patients who've made wellness a regular part of how they train and recover.

Jim Kinneary
I cannot recommend Ethos PT enough. John is the absolute best! He is extremely knowledgeable and puts a lot of effort into your personalized recovery plan. He looks at everything as a whole and how everything functions together to help and support recovery. Without John, I would not have been able to get my quad firing and my knee back to full function! 5/5

I’m currently on a healing journey for an old shoulder injury as an amateur Muay Thai fighter. In the short time working with Doctor Puzio, I've been able to regain my confidence in my movements and prevent future injuries. The professionalism and the ability to identify the issue and start fixing it right away has been remarkable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about what wellness sessions involve and who they're right for.

Is this just massage?

No. Wellness sessions at Ethos are clinically informed tissue work delivered by a Doctor of Physical Therapy who knows your history. The techniques — soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, cupping, IASTM — are the same used in PT, applied to maintenance and recovery goals.

Do I need a current injury to come in?

No. Wellness is for people who feel good and want to stay that way. You don't need pain or an active injury to benefit from regular tissue work. Most wellness clients are simply proactive about maintaining their body — especially if they train regularly.

How often should I come in?

Most clients book monthly. Depending on your training volume and how your body responds, some find more or less frequent sessions work better. We'll help you find the right cadence based on your goals and how your tissue feels over time.

Can I do wellness if I'm also in PT?

In most cases, yes — and it's a natural progression. Many clients move from active PT care into wellness maintenance once they've resolved their primary issue. We'll guide the transition based on where you are in your recovery and your long-term goals.

What's the difference between wellness and a regular PT session?

PT is active rehabilitation — we're identifying a problem and working systematically to resolve it. Wellness is maintenance — you're already feeling good, and we're keeping it that way with regular tissue work. Both are one-on-one and clinically led, but the goal is different.
