Do I need an MRI or referral before coming in?

No referral is needed — New Jersey allows direct access to physical therapy. You also don't need imaging before your first visit. We conduct a thorough movement assessment that identifies what's driving your knee pain and guides the plan from there.

Can I keep training while I'm dealing with knee pain?

In most cases, yes — with smart adjustments. We work with you to identify what loads and movements are tolerable and how to keep you active while we address the underlying issue. The goal is to keep you training, not bench you indefinitely.

I've had knee pain for a long time. Is it too late for PT?

Chronic knee pain responds well to the right approach. The fact that it's been around a while often means the root cause was never identified and addressed — not that it can't be. A thorough assessment and targeted care plan can make a significant difference even for long-standing issues.

How is this different from PT I've done before?

Every session at Ethos is one-on-one for a full 60 minutes with a DPT and Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. No aides, no being handed off mid-session, no generic protocol. The assessment is comprehensive and the treatment is specific to what you need.

Do you accept insurance?

Ethos Physical Therapy is a cash-based, self-pay clinic. We do not bill insurance directly. We can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement, and we submit OON claims as a courtesy through Reimbursify at no cost to you. HSA and FSA payments are accepted.
